👁️Teaching the 20-20-20 Rule in Sg Dua, Butterworth!

On a bright Wednesday morning, the energy in Sg Dua, Butterworth was nothing short of inspiring as our team rolled out the Eye Care Awareness Program—a meaningful initiative aimed at teaching young minds how to protect one of their most precious gifts which is their vision.

With the rising use of screens among children for learning and entertainment, it’s more important than ever to introduce them to simple, science-backed habits to reduce eye strain. And what better way to do that than with the 20-20-20 rule?

Recommended by the World Health Organization, the 20-20-20 rule is an easy-to-remember tip designed to reduce digital eye strain. Here’s how it works:

👉 After every 20 minutes of looking at a screen or reading a book,
👉 Look at something 20 feet away,
👉 For at least 20 seconds.

It may sound simple, but this small habit can go a long way in protecting our children’s vision—especially in today’s digital world.

We invited several enthusiastic students to come forward and recite the 20-20-20 rule out loud, turning it into a fun chant that had the entire room echoing with energy. This not only helped reinforce the message but also made it memorable and enjoyable for the kids. By making the message simple, interactive, and age-appropriate, we hope they’ll remember the 20-20-20 rule every time they pick up a tablet, book, or phone.

A heartfelt thank you to the school staff, volunteers, and bright young participants who made this day so special. Together, we’re building a healthier future—one blink at a time.

Stay tuned for more community health initiatives as we continue to bring smiles, awareness, and wellness across Butterworth and beyond!
